Er hat als Meistersch\u00fcler bei Aernout Mik an der\nKunstakademie M\u00fcnster studiert, an der Akademie der bildenden K\u00fcnste in Wien sowie im\nZweitfach Soziologie.\nVolkhardt arbeitet an den Schnittstellen von Video, Performance, Text und Film. Ausgehend\nvom Schreiben untersuchen seine Arbeiten Formen und Versatzst\u00fccke gegenw\u00e4rtigen\nGeschichtsbewusstseins, deren Ausdruck in gesellschaftlichen Herrschaftsverh\u00e4ltnissen\nund popkultureller Codierung. Im Zentrum seiner Praxis steht die Verschr\u00e4nkung von Text\nund Bewegtbild, deren zeitbasierte Form gewohnte Narrative der Gegenwart produktiv\nirritiert. Er arbeitet meist interdisziplin\u00e4r und realisierte in der Vergangenheit Kollektiv-, wie\nSoloprojekte, die bereits 2021 im Theater im Pumpenhaus in M\u00fcnster, 2023 in Mujuryoku\nSessions in Tokio, auf dem Muzyka w Starych Balicach Festival in Krakau oder 2024 im\nF\u00f6rderverein Aktuelle Kunst in M\u00fcnster und im Kunstpalast D\u00fcsseldorf gezeigt wurden.\nPeter Maria Volkhardt ver\u00f6ffentlichte zudem Texte im Eigenverlag sowie in der Publikation\n\u201eContact Zones in Contemporary Art\u201d in
