Seascape
2023
Seascape tells the story of Ferdinand, a young director and the actors Noah and Judith. Ferdinand wants to reform cinema as he understands and perceives it during a twoweek shoot, isolated in a small coastal town. The film deals with inner worlds of conflict that reveal themselves as if on an inner sea level. The protagonists challenge themselves and the others, so individual needs and repressed insecu- rities come to the surface. As they try to free themselves, the characters realise how much they have already lost them- selves in the world of film. The boundaries between filming and reality become visibly blurred, so Ferdinand does not want to allow a shift in power under any circumstances and also transfers his role as director to the private lives of Noah and Judith. A gruelling dynamic develops between the three characters, in which Noah and Judith move between submission and rebellion against Ferdinand.

The Kongress
Interactive Reaction Performance
The Good Will Collective‘s presentation of „Seascape“ took an unconventional approach, incorporating a multichannel reaction performance that questioned power dynamics. The film was critiqued by a film critic, an influencer, a sociolo- gist, and an actor. Additionally, two live writing performers provided real-time written responses, questioning the film‘s themes and messages. This approach aimed to challenge conventional storytelling and dominant perspectives, creating a platform for ar- tistic experimentation and engagement. By integrating diverse perspectives and reactions, the Good Will Collective was able to challenge established power structures and explore new forms of community and collaboration in filmmak- ing. The Congress of Good Will exem- plified the potential of alternative film practices that prioritize inclusivity and collaboration, providing a thought-pro- voking experience.
